Social Media Maketing

I recently read a great book on the new marketing techniques written by David Meerman Scott, The New Rules of Marketing & PR.  A large topic inside this book is what I am talking about in this post, social media marketing.  On Scott’s blog he does a great job of explaining social media in 61 words in his pots, “Social media marketing explained in 61 words” found here: Web Ink Now.


As soon many people use social media and networking sites it just makes sense for your business to do the same and to start getting involved in conversations.  A very important concept to remember while doing this is that the people on these sites do not want to see advertising, instead just get your name out there and come up with helpful content to help customers.


Using sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, YouTube, Flickr or a blog, you can reach your niche market and create content that they want to see.
